dumping by the "Coalition for Fair Atlantic Salmon
Trade" in the United States.
Signing of the Clean Production Agreement (APL) with
the Chilean government, which demonstrated the industry’s
commitment to the environment. It involved the implementation
of 40 environmental processes A 301 farming centers and 30
processing plants, thus constituting the broadest and most
relevant agreement signed by a national industry, and included
companies from the Metropolitan Region to the XII Region.
Founding of “Salmon of The Americas” (SOTA) to promote the
consumption of farmed salmon in the North American market.
The Association participated alongside producers from Canada
and the United States.
Launch of the Integrated Management System (SIGES), a
standard set within Chile to govern best practice.
Successful removal of safeguards imposed on imported
Chilean salmon by the European Union.
Coordination of joint action on the part of salmon producers
to combat the health crisis caused by the ISA virus (Infectious
Salmon Anemia virus).
Launch of 44 health measures to deal with the industry crisis,
promote self-regulation and public-private initiatives within the industry.
Approval of amendments to the General Law on Fisheries and
Aquaculture to provide legal support for the restructuring
of the industry.
Approval of Aquaculture Regulations.
Participation in the industry’s first international joint
public-private campaign, which sought to position the "Salmon
de Chile" brand in Brazil, and help put Chilean salmon on the
table in Brazilian households.
Signing of an agreement between the Chilean Education Ministry
and SalmonChile A. G. to form the "Council for Aquaculture Skills
in the Salmon Industry" (CCA).
